Frequently asked questions
What countries do you service?

Canada and the United States.

Is there any difference between the U.S. and Canadian services?

Functionality wise, no. However, spam laws and carrier requirements mean there are small differences in the packages to ensure compliance from country to country. CASL (Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation) requires more compliance messaging, for instance.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No, you don’t. Our service renews monthly and you are free to cancel anytime. There are no long term requirements. Canceling is quick and easy and can be done directly from your account—no need to get someone on the phone, or proceed through some tedious, long-winded process.

Can you send an SMS "blast" for me?

No. We do not send out SMS “blasts”. Unless you have received specific consent from an audience to contact them, doing so is illegal and a violation of CASL (Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation) in Canada and the T.C.P.A. in the U.S. Fines are high; up to $1,500 per unauthorized text in the U.S.

Can I try your service for free?

We offer free trials for BROADCASTsms and CONNECTsms. It's our way of demonstrating our confidence in our products, as well as ensuring that you're not buying a hammer when you need a saw. Feel free to book a demo or a call to discuss.

Do you offer a money-back guarantee?

We sure do. 30 days. No quibble. No questions asked. It's our way of eliminating the risk from your purchase.

What happens if I cancel my account?

When you cancel your account, it remains active until the start of the next billing cycle at which point it will be deleted and all accumulated contacts will be lost.

Can I send images or animated gifs with your service?

Yes. Our service supports the sending of multimedia messages (images and gifs).

Do you offer discounts for non-profit organizations?

Yes. Contact us via email or call 877-403-2402 anytime to discuss.

Do you use the SMTP or SMPP protocol to send messages?

All our messages use the SMPP protocol, which is the accepted industry protocol for sending SMS or text messages. What this means, essentially, is that our messages are sent via the mobile carriers' networks, and not through an inferior service that uses much less reliable email technology.

What does SMS Stand for? Is there a difference between SMS and text messages?

SMS stands for “short message service.” If you receive a SMS message, you are receiving a text message. They are one in the same.

What sort of technical requirements are required to use the service?

All you really need is a computer and a modern browser. We recommend Google Chrome or Mozilla's Firefox. Our CONNECTsms service is fully mobile responsive and will work perfectly on a tablet or your smart phone.
