Is there a minimum message-volume requirement or usage threshold?

Our pay as you go plan, for instance, starts at $9.99 allows you to add message credits only when you need them. It’s ideal for low volume senders who need to send messages only sporadically.
Can I send mass texts outside of Canada?
Yes. BROADCASTsms can send to recipients in both Canada and the United States.
International messaging (outside CA/US) is not currently supported, but Canadian companies with cross-border customers can run campaigns freely in both countries with your existing account.
What do I need to do to make sure my messages comply with CASL?
To comply with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), you must have received express consent from recients before sending them text messages (implied consent is valid under Canadian law, but in order to obtain approval for a special number for bulk texting, only express consent is considered valid).
The messages themselves must include an option to opt out (we take care of this for you by inserting “Reply Stop to end” into all messages) and those who do must immediately be removed from subsequent messaging campaigns (again, this is handled automatically by BROADCASTsms).
What’s the difference between SMS and MMS in terms of cost?
SMS, or “short message service” is a standard text message and includes up to 160 characters per segment (longer, multi-segment messages can be sent but it’s more expensive to do so).
1 text messaging credit = a single, 160 character message sent to 1 person.
MMS (multi-media messaging) can include…

- Up to 1,600 characters of text.

- The sender gets a “messages not monitored” response, informing them that you cannot be reached in this manner. This is ideal if you do not want to manage customer responses.
- The message is routed to BROADCASTsms’ inbox. Here you or your team can respond in real time from any logged-in device, essentially having a one-to-one text chat with the sender. BROADCASTsms includes unlimited users, so multiple staff members can monitor replies simultaneously.
Are there any restrictions on what kind of content I can send?
Yes. All messages must comply with carrier and regulatory guidelines. Examples of prohibited content include:

What happens to my unused credits if I downgrade or cancel?
As long as your subscription remains active, unused credits roll forward indefinitely.
If you cancel your subscription, any unused credits expire when the account closes (unused credits are not refundable).
If you downgrade, your existing credit balance remains intact—you simply receive fewer new credits per billing cycle.
How secure is my data and who has access to it?
